Who were the Vikings
The term Vikings refers to those peoples of the north, which included several Germanic peoples living in the south-central Scandinavia and Denmark who on board fast drakkar ships (The Viking ships were generally made of oak wood, the name comes from the fact that beastly appearances, very often dragon, were carved on the bow) they made raids on the shores of the British Isles, of France, and other parts of Europe between the end of the 8th and 11th centuries.
Where they got to
Famous for their ability as navigators, the Vikings in a few centuries colonized the coasts and rivers of much of Europe, the Shetland Islands, the Orkney Islands, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland and Newfoundland; they went south to southern Italy and the coasts of North Africa, and east to Russia and Constantinople, both to trade and to carry out looting. The meaning of the term Vikings would derive from the word vik, bay or inlet, testifying to the seafaring vocation of these people. According to another hypothesis, the name comes from the word vikja, which meant moving away and moving.

An exciting encounter
Among the many experiences that you can do at the Viking village there is one in particular that impresses. A woman dressed in Viking-era clothes performs a very beautiful song that depicts the song that was sung during religious ceremonies in which an animal was sacrificed. The following footage plays the song.
